Prior to joining IntraOp, Bruce was the President of SCR Group, Solar Integrated Technologies and SoloPower. A seasoned operations and marketing executive, Bruce is the founder of several start-up companies and brings to IntraOp over 30 years’ experience drafting and implementing the commercialization and market strategy for innovative products and unique capital equipment.
In 1981 Bruce led the introduction of Swiss made thermoplastic industrial fabrics to the US commercial roofing market, accelerating the acceptance of energy efficient building materials and triggering a 20 year decline in asphalt-based systems. In 1998 he developed and patented an industry-first photovoltaic roof and later founded Solar Integrated Technologies, a leading pioneer in Building Integrated Photovoltaics (BIPV). Bruce led Solar Integrated from start-up operations in 2001 to achieving gross revenue in excess of $100M by 2005. He formulated and secured an agreement with GE Energy Financial Services to finance up to $500M in Solar Power Purchase Agreements, a leading precedent for financing large scale roof-top solar installations. Solar Integrated later earned the Wall Street Journal’s coveted “Most Innovative Technology of the Year” award, besting industry titans Chevron and ABB in the energy category. In 2008 Governor Schwarzenegger selected Solar Integrated as a prime example of California’s entrepreneurial spirit and the site to announce his endorsement of Senator John McCain for President.
Over his career Bruce has raised over $100M in expansion capital, led strategic M&A activity, and built international sales and operations organizations from the ground up. He has served on boards and as an executive advisor to investment funds and start-up industrial technology companies. He holds BA’s in Finance, Economics and Accounting from Bentley University.
