FREMONT, Calif. & SALZBURG, Austria – IntraOp Medical Corporation today announced a significant clinical milestone at Salzburg University Hospital (Universitätsklinikum Salzburg), where the 1,000th patient has been treated using the IntraOp® Mobetron® intraoperative radiation therapy (IORT) system. Three-dimensional imaging data acquired during the procedure can be transferred directly into a radiation treatment planning system, enabling patient-specific adaptive treatment planning in real time within minutes in the operating room. This approach allows physicians to tailor radiation delivery to the patient’s anatomy at the moment of treatment while helping to minimize radiation exposure to surrounding healthy tissue.
